Robert Shoemaker, Funeral Home Manager

Robert came to Crestwood in November 2014 with more than 20 years of funeral experience. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served in Vietnam and is active with the American Legion. The longtime Rainsville resident also serves his community as a youth football coach.

Mike D. Gladden, Funeral Director & Embalmer

Mike joined the staff in October 2001. He lives in his native Gadsden with his wife, Carol, and is a master mason and member of Alabama City Masonic Lodge #550. Before earning his funeral service degree from Jefferson State College, he worked at Gulf States Steel for 22 years.

James Brown, Funeral Director

Jim has been a funeral director here since 2008, but previously served the funeral home in pre-need sales. He has lived in Southside since the mid '90s and attends Mercy Hill Nazarene Church. Born in Milwaukee, Wis., he is married to his wife Rita, has two children, and previously worked in the insurance industry for 25 years.

Kathy Knight, Funeral Director Apprentice

Kathy began serving Crestwood families in April 2016, but has always had a passion for helping others. She resides in Hokes Bluff and is active in her community through church. She the proud mother of two children, both now grown and married. Her son is in the U.S. Army currently stationed in Afghanistan, and her daughter recently blessed Kathy with the new role of grandma. Kathy feels her grandson Everett is the light of her life!

Marcee Minogue, Funeral Administrator

Marcee first joined our staff as administrative assistant in January 2015, but was promoted to her current role after the position opened that November. Before coming to Crestwood, she worked for 29 years as a special education teacher in the public school system and five years as a first grade teacher at a private Catholic school. She lives with her husband and daughter near Noccalula Falls in Gadsden. Marcee enjoys camping and rafting with her family, and working in her yard.

Nelson Childress, Administrative Assistant

Nelson began working in the industry in 1999. He earned an associate’s degree in radio and television broadcasting from GSCC, and had 14 years of cemetery experience before he moved to office administration in 2015. Nelson also is an ordained minister, and currently serves as youth pastor at Noccalula Church of God.

Ron Copeland, Funeral Assistant

Ron joined our staff in February 2016 with three years of funeral experience. A Navy veteran, he served in the Vietnam War, and worked for U.S. Steel and the Birmingham Fire Department for 32 years. The Birmingham native attends Life Church in Rainbow City. He now resides in the Gadsden area with his wife, Brenda, and their beloved golden retriever.


Roger White, Cemetery Manager

Roger spent 22 years as a welder and machinist before changing careers in 2007 to begin helping people through the cemetery and funeral pre-planning process. He has worked in management since 2011, and joined the Crestwood staff in 2014. The Gadsden native is married with two kids, and is a member of the Gadsden City Chamber of Commerce. In his free time, Roger enjoys riding motorcycles, fishing, going mudding, and cooking.

Audrey Sprayberry, Pre-Planning Specialist

Audrey became part of the Crestwood team in 2016, but has worked in this industry since March 2013 and enjoys being able to help families. With a love for the outdoors, some of her favorite activities include kayaking with friends and camping with her husband and children.

Racheal Davenport, Pre-Planning Specialist

Racheal joined our staff in March 2017, and enjoys that this role allows her to help families get peace of mind from pre-planning. She currently attends College Height Baptist Church, and uses her stylist skills as a volunteer for Locks of Loves. Born in Gadsden, she received her education at Westbrook Christian School, Gadsden State Community College and Jacksonville State University.

Billy Hurst, Superintendent

Billy came to Crestwood in April 2015 after working as an equipment operator with Anniston Water Works. He and his wonderful wife have three kids and two grandchildren. His favorite hobbies include hunting, fishing and camping.

Tim McCormick, Assistant Superintendent

Tim worked as a welder fabricator and volunteer firefighter before joining our staff in 2015. The Georgia native now resides in the Gadsden area with his wife, Tamiko.

Kandice Wallace, Cemetery Administrator

A Gadsden native and longtime resident, Kandice attended Etowah High School and Gadsden State Community College. She has worked in administration since 2015, but was promoted to her current role at Crestwood in February 2017. When she's not working, she enjoys reading, baking and cake decorating, but most of all she enjoys spending quality time with her husband and their two dogs, Roxy and Vincent.

Gary Crowe, Service & Grounds Maintenance

Born in Etowah County, Gary grew up in Gadsden and graduated from Emma Sansom High School. Before joining our staff in June 2016, he worked for 28 years with the City of Gadsden. He and his wife, Debbie, enjoy spending time with their five children and four grandchildren. Gary also enjoys photography, working out, and training others in the gym.

Dewayne Brown, Service & Grounds Maintenance

Dewayne has worked at Crestwood since October 2016. The Alabama native was born in Jacksonville, grew up in Wellington, and attended Alexandria High School. His favorite pastime is floating in the creek while fishing.
